Stay Safe
Many of our customers comment on the friendly road manners of the Spanish drivers especially towards motorcyclists.
Here is some info to ensure your trip goes without a hitch.
License
Of course to rent one of our motorcycles a full motorcycle license is required. Riders who do not hold an EU license will also require an International permit which can be obtained through any local motoring club. Although the International permit is not required to rent with us, we do recommend you carry one as you may be required to provide it for the local Police.
Helmets
Crash helmets are required throughout Europe and must be EU approved.
Cap helmets are not legal and should not be worn.
Road Signs
Road signs and markings are more or less the same throughout Europe and are simple to understand.
Speed Limits
Speed limits are clearly marked on all roads with the maximum being 120 kmh on highways. There are a growing number of speed cameras and radars throughout Spain mostly on major highways around cities.
Bike Parking
There are very few restrictions on where you are permitted to park and most cities offer ample dedicated parking zones for bikers. During the evening it is recommended that you park your rental bike in enclosed parking. Spain does not have a high motorcycle theft rate but motorcycles left on the street during the night can get damaged, especially in city streets.
